Ubisoft released Far Cry 5 earlier in March this year. The game has received great reviews and is capable of running on low-end systems as well. You can improve any game with better FPS. This blog is aimed at giving you the best tips to follow for enhancing the FPS for Far Cry 5.
Before beginning the optimization process, make sure your system meets these minimum requirements and recommended specifications.
For Far Cry 5, you need an Intel i5-2400 3.1GHz or an AMD FX.6300 3.5GHz or a similar CPU. The GPU options are GeForce GTX 670, AMD R9 270 (2GB) or similar. It works only in 64-bit OS ranging from Windows 7 SP1, 8.1, 10. An 8GB RAM with a minimum of 30GB space will suit the process.
There are different CPU, GPU, and RAM requirements for different FPS levels. These are the specs for a complete HD 60 FPS setting. The recommended options for CPU include Intel i7-4770 3.4GHz, AMD Ryzen 5 1600 3.2GHz or similar. You can use a GeForce GTX 970 or an AMD R9 290X (4GB), or similar GPU. A RAM of 8GB with 30GB storage space is suitable.
The 30 and 60 FPS levels function only in Windows 10 with a 16GB RAM. For the former, you can use Intel i7-6700 3.4GHz, AMD Ryzen 5 1600X 3.6GHz or similar CPU. You can also choose the GPU amid GeForce GTX 1070, AMD RX Vega 56 (8GB), or similar. The latter uses Intel i7-6700K 4.0GHz, AMD Ryzen 7 1700X 3.4GHz or similar CPU. Its GPU choices are GeForce GTX 1080 SLI, AMD RX Vega 56 CFX (8GB), or similar.
The optimization process begins with changes in the PC settings. You have to first put your PC on “High-Performance Mode”. Second, close all the other applications you are using to avoid the use of resources. The next step involves optimizing the Discord. Far Cry 5 is a co-op game and involves another player. So, you are sharing Discord with a friend which needs optimization. Go to the User Settings in the Discord. Find the Hardware Acceleration option under the Appearance section and uncheck it.
To further ensure the best performance for your games, you have to optimize your browser. Google Chrome can eat up a good deal of your PC’s resources while you play. Therefore, go to the Advanced Settings option in Chrome and you need to unselect the Use hardware acceleration when the option/ choice are available to you. Once you restart the browser, it will be optimized.
The process of optimizing your PC also involves cleaning all the temporary files. Type %localappdata% on the windows bar and press enter. Open the Temp folder in this dialog box and delete all files. Empty the recycle bin after this.
Once the process of optimization and performance is finished, you have to adjust the graphics settings. You should get a 60 FPS level at a minimum level. A higher level works better if your PC has the suitable conditions. Put the video in full-screen mode. Keep the Refresh Rate to a maximum and determine the Display Resolution according to this rate.
You can set the graphics quality according to your PC’s functioning. Put the texture filtering as well as water to High. Set Shadows, Terrain, and Environment to Normal. Put Volumetric Fog to zero and keep Motion Blur off.
